Cover Girls theme for the A - Z Challenge is no surprise -- book covers!
A - An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Jax - This cover is to the point- they are on a mission, but will come across walls and obstacles. It entices me enough to want to find out what journey they are on!
Dani – I love how I holds my attention with such simple visuals. Makes me wonder what journey they are on and where they will take me.
B - Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore
Dani – I have Graceling on CD (which I still need to listen to) and what made me download it to begin with was the cover, and Bitterblue is no different – very cool.
Jax - I love this cover, from the different keys that look lovely at the top and like weapons at the bottom to the girl peeking through in the background to the delicate flowers in the corners.
I'm drawn to the Bitterblue cover even though I know nothing about the book. Probably because I love the colour.

As a new indie author I am exciting to see what you like and don't like about book covers. Thanks for sharing and I hope it's fun for you too.

I love Bitterblue's cover.
ReplyDeleteNot only is this a great idea for a theme, but as an author I find your comments on the covers you're featuring very instructive!
ReplyDeleteBoth are unique but blue is a favorite color! But the desolate background of Ashes is very intriguing!
ReplyDeleteHappy Second Day of the A to Z!

Ooh, I love keys. I would definitely pick that one off the shelf and look at the back.
